INVESTIGATIONS OF OXYGEN PLASMAS.

Abstract

A study was made of detailed behavior of free electrons in various temperature states in oxygen plasmas. It was shown that one can account for the apparent discrepancy between the drift tube data and the microwave measurements by taking into account the detachment of electrons from the negative ions O2(-) by collisions with long-lived excited state O2(singlet-Delta-g) of the oxygen molecule.
