A PULSED-BEAM FACILITY FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER'S MP TANDEM,

Abstract

A pulsed-beam system is being planned which will provide pulsed beams of heavy ions, protons, deuterons, and He3. The following topics are covered with respect to such a facility: Design considerations; Fundamentals of pulsing; Effect of pulsing on tandem optics; Post-acceleration beam transport; Specific parameters for Rochester MP.
