FACTORS IN JOB-SATISFACTION: A FOLLOWUP.
Abstract
A 34-item followup survey was completed by 1,011 maintenance airmen in 14 different military units located in the Far East, the Continental United States, and in Europe. Personnel of these units had completed an earlier survey administered as a part of the efforts of the 1965 Ad Hoc Committee on Maintenance Personnel, formed at the direction of the Commander, MAC. Data from these survey forms were analyzed to reveal those problem areas that, in the opinion of the respondents, had shown significant deterioration or improvement. The survey revealed that unit manning and cost of living showed the most deterioration since the first survey and that pay and on-the-job training showed the most improvement. Job supervision continues to be an area of concern to maintenance personnel at the working level. (Author)
