THEORY AND APPLICATIONS OF THE DIGITAL RESOLVER,

Abstract

This report develops a theory of operation and describes applications for a special-purpose digital computer known as a Digital Resolver. The Digital Resolver can handle transcendental mathematical functions much more efficiently than can a so-called general purpose computer. The Digital Resolver should be used wherever there are large numbers of trigonometric functions to be handled, as in fire control, navigation, guidance, and stabilization systems.
