MEASUREMENT OF THE FREQUENCY SPECTRUM OF PULSED SINE WAVE REVERBERATION.

Abstract

Reverberations from 1-sec pulses at 15.4 khz were analyzed and the reverberation spectrum measured. Average reverberation levels as a function of time for 100, 10, and 1 hz filter bandwidths are presented. Reverberation spectra as a function of time after the pulse were found to be significantly wider than the pulse spectrum. The volume scattering strength as a function of scatterer velocity and a recommended notch filter response for reverberation rejection are also presented. A formula for reverberation bandwidth for any level in db below peak reverberation level has been derived. (Author)
