COMPARISON OF METHODS FOR TREATING DATA ON TENSILE STRENGTH OF THERMOPLASTICS.

Abstract

Tensile strength data for five thermoplastics (polycarbonate, phenoxy, ethylcellulose, poly(methyl methacrylate), and polyethylene) were treated by temperature-time superposition and by the Bueche theory. Neither of these treatments was found to be as useful in describing behavior as the application of a modified rate equation. (Author)
