AN INVESTIGATION OF THE THRUST AUGMENTATION CHARACTERISTICS OF JET EJECTORS

Abstract

The analysis includes the effects of flow compressiblity, major flow losses, and forward speed. Numerical results are presented in the form of nomographs for a wide range of practical operating conditions. These computations were performed with the aid of an IBM 360 digital computer. The charts can be used to predict the jet ejector performance and as such represent an effective analytical tool for preliminary design purposes. The numerical results are used to determine the effects of the more important aerodynamic, thermodynamic, and geometric parameters on jet ejector thrust augmentation. A correlation of these results with the available experimental data is also made.
