QUADRATIC APPROXIMATION OF THE LOGARITHMIC FUNCTION.
Abstract
Methods of fitting quadratic expressions to the function y = 20 log x between x = 0.5 and x = 100 are described. The resulting quadratics are useful in simplifying the solution of certain transcendental equations by reducing them to algebraic equations. (Author)
