SPATIAL DATA SYSTEMS: ORGANIZATION OF SPATIAL DATA.

Abstract

This report provides a limited explication of current needs for classifying and organizing spatial data for use in urban and transportation planning. In addition, requirements and methods for handling spatial data are explored. The report emphasizes the dual need for data organization methods and data handling capabilities, as a requisite for utilization of data acquired from remote sensors mounted on earth orbital platforms. This work provides a basis for examination of some problems of integrating remote sensors into a viable geographic information system.
