THE EFFECT OF THE TURN OF THE BILGE ON ROLL DAMPING,

Abstract

The sharpness of the turn of the bilges, and whether or not they are equipped with keels, greatly determines the roll damping power of the midship section of a given ship. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the effect of the variation of the radius of the turn of the bilge, when without and with bilge keels, on roll damping. (Author)
