TEST OF DRAWING ROOM MODEL OF U. S. DESTROYER HAMILTON IN WATER TO DETERMINE FORCES DUE TO WIND.

Abstract

The report concerns a detailed test to determine the effect of wind at various angles with the center line of a ship. The experiment showed that, in the case of the destroyer model used, the greatest retarding effect of the wind on the ship is exerted when the apparent wind is about 30 degrees off the bow.
