A LAMINATED THIN CYLINDRICAL SHELL UNDER AXISYMMETRIC STATIC LOADING.

Abstract

A model is used to discuss the behavior of a laminated shell in which the laminating mechanism is represented by springs which allow both separation and relative layeral motion or 'slip' of the faces of the homogeneous isotropic layers. By varying the spring constants it is possible to determine the dependence of both the buckling load and the flexural response upon a wide range of conditions. It is the attempt here to use the most simple model possible which has physical relevance. (Author)
