SPARK CUTTER FOR LABORATORY USE.

Abstract

A spark cutter of the relaxation circuit type is described that can be used to produce tensile test specimens, electron microscopy specimens, specimens for grain-size and microhardness tests, and rods and discs for other metallurgical or metallographic purposes. A rotating specimen and a rotating cutting tool on carriages that move perpendicular to each other allow specimens up to 5 cm in diameter and up to 32 cm in length to be worked. (Author)
