AUTOINOIZATION IN ANTHRACENE,

Abstract

A comparison is made of the external photoelectric effect produced by a single photon process, with that produced by an exciton-exciton process. The results are consistant with the conclusion that at least for excitation energies up to 6.3 eV, the internal intrinsic carrier generation mechanism is that of autoionization for both processes.
