A CLASS 'A' D. C. COUPLED POWER AMPLIFIER.

Abstract

An amplifier which is suitable for current-driving electromagnetic vibration generators of the type used in the resonance testing of aircraft is described. The amplifier has an output impedance of 5000 ohms and can typically supply a load of 3 ohm with a current of plus or minus 4 amps while introducing less than 1 degree phase-shift between the input voltage and output current over the frequency range D.C. to 2 kc/s. To achieve the high output impedance and response to D.C., directly coupled transistors have been used in a current negative-feedback circuit. (Author)
