AN INTEGRAL EQUATION EIGENFUNCTION PROBLEM CONCERNING THE ABILITY OF A RADAR TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN TWO TARGETS.

Abstract

Once the required performance of a radar has been specified by its ambiguity function, there exists an optimum emitted signal which most closely satisfies this requirement. The signal is the eigenfunction corresponding to the dominant eigenvalue of an integral equation. A numerical method is used to determine this eigenfunction and to evaluate the actual ambiguity function of the system using this signal. (Author)
