AFTERSHOCK SEQUENCE AND CRUSTAL STRUCTURE IN THE REGION OF GREECE.

Abstract

This report describes the major accomplishments under terms of the contract, during the reporting period. The crustal structure in Southeastern Europe was studied both by using travel times of body waves, and by using dispersed waved data. The foreshock and aftershock sequences of all the major shallow earthquakes that occurred in the region of Greece from 1926 to 1964 were investigated. Four new seismological stations were installed, and equipment was purchased.
