USE OF ICE, SNOW AND FROZEN SOIL IN ENGINEERING STRUCTURES.

Abstract

This translation reviews the use of ice, snow and frozen soil as construction materials in permafrost regions. The design and construction of engineering structures of snow, ice and frozen soil are described. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the construction and operation of ice-walled storehouses.
