EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF JET-SIMULATED FLARE STABILITY OF AN OGIVE-CYLINDER AT SUPERSONIC SPEEDS.

Abstract

An investigation, conducted to determine the feasibility of simulating a body flare by means of jets exhausting around the circumference of the body in close proximity to the base, revealed that the stability of non-lifting bodies of revolution can be increased by use of jet-simulated flares.
