THE DESIGN OF FLAT-SCORED HIGH-PRESSURE DIAPHRAGMS FOR USE IN SHOCK TUNNELS AND GAS GUNS

Abstract

An empirical design curve for flat-scored metal diaphragms is presented, which predicts burst pressures up to 40,000 psi. Also discussed are methods of holding the diaphragms and materials used in their fabrication.
