COMPONENT EVALUATION DURING SHOCK

Abstract

A test method was developed that allows direct wire monitoring of an item during application of shock. The method employs the air gun facilities of HDL. The test item is mounted in a target body that is impacted by the air gun projectile. Peak accelerations of 20,000 g with a duration of 0.75 msec were obtained. The components evaluated, primarily resistors and capacitors, showed very small dynamic changes.
