SERVOMECHANISM-PROPELLED VEHICLES.

Abstract

The report discusses the potential utility and feasibility of novel modes of ground transportation suitable for rough terrain. More specifically, it discusses the possibility of using servomechanism propelled walking machines, describing the components of a hypothetical quadruped vehicle as a speculative example, and touching briefly on some design ideas for bipeds and hexapeds. A final section offers some discussion of the efficiency of hydraulic servomechanism propelled vehicles. (Author)
