APPROXIMATION OF THE SINGLE LINE DURING THE TRANSFER OF RADIANT ENERGY IN THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE,

Abstract

The author considers values of the frequency interval about the line center in which the approximation of the isolated line is valid for radiative transfer in the mesosphere and upper stratosphere. The regions of validity for this approximation are estimated in the case of the 15 micron CO2 band.
