EYE EFFECTS MATHEMATICAL MODELS.

Abstract

The report describes the results of research to develop mathematical models of eye effects produced by nuclear flashes. The model for prediction of retinal burns gives temperature values by using a numerical method to approximate the solution of a differential equation governing the conduction of heat in the ocular fundus. Consideration is given to the validity of the solution by discussing the convergence, stability, and accuracy of the numerical method. Comments are given on a statistical model for the prediction of flashblindness recovery times. (Author)
