CABIN PRESSURIZATION CHARACTERISTICS OF USAF COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT.

Abstract

A reference list containing cabin pressurization characteristics of USAF aircraft and of several commercial transport aircraft has been compiled. It is anticipated that this list will be of value to physicians confronted with the necessity of transporting patients by air. Personnel engaged in research and development related to problems of cabin pressurization and pressure suits should also find such a list of value. A review of some medical conditions adversely affected by reductions in the barometric pressure and partial pressure of oxygen is included, with special emphasis being given to decompression sickness.
