DESIGN STUDY OF A TRANSISTORIZED ASV VALVE DRIVER AND THE ASV TORQUE MOTOR,

Abstract

The paper reports the results of a design study of a transistorized ASV valve driver called the TMG and the associated ASV torque motor. Background is laid for the general requirements of such a driver through a brief discussion of valve construction and operation. This includes the torque motor operation, valve spool characteristics, the UNS concept and the ASV switching principle. Several advantages of the ASV valve over its proportional counterpart are also listed.
