MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE.

Abstract

The general objective is to develop a highly readable language for preparing experimental programs for solving large-scale mathematical programming systems. A set of conventions have been tentatively agreed upon. For flexibility a program will be made up from modules consisting of short subroutines. The latter are each translated by a human coder into a standard programming language (such as FORTRAN or ALGOL.) No plans are contemplated at present for a mechanical translator. (Author)
