ON SECOND-ORDER LINEAR EQUATIONS OF NON-NEGATIVE CHARACTERISTIC SHAPE,
Abstract
This paper gives a complete existence-uniqueness-regularity theory of the 'first boundary value problem' for the equation L(u) = a(superscript ij)(x) u(subscript ij) + b(superscript i)(x) u(subscript i) + c(x)u = f(x) (subscripts of u denote differentiation), where a(superscript ij)(x) xi(subscript i) xi(subscript j) = or > 0 for all x in the given domain, and all vectors xi.
