ACOUSTIC GRAVITY WAVE STUDY.

Abstract

The report describes the efforts of the first four months of a one-year contract to study the propagation of acoustic gravity waves in the lower atmosphere and ionosphere, considering in particular the static firing of rocket engines and the occurrence of local thunderclouds as possible sources of such energy. The status of the program is outlined, theoretical and experimental concepts are discussed, and details of the equipment developed for the program are presented. (Author)
