THE CYLINDER PROBLEM IN THERMOVISCOELASTICITY.

Abstract

The axially symmetric plane strain problem is solved for a thick-walled hollow viscoelastic cylinder subject to an axially symmetric but otherwise arbitrary temperature field. Three types of boundary conditions are considered: (1) zero displacement of the inner and outer walls, (2) zero traction on both walls, and (3) zero traction inside, zero displacement outside.
