LAMB WAVE EXCITATION IN A 6-CONSTANT CUBIC CRYSTAL BY THE WEDGE METHOD,

Abstract

It is desirable to study the problem of wave transmission in materials described by constitutive equations which involve couple-stresses. Physical methods of wave excitation are already described in the literature. These may be adapted for studies of the materials of present interest. Accordingly, solutions of the equations of motion for elastic waves assumed to be excited in a 6-constant centro-symmetric cubic crystal are examined in the present report. The solutions will be of value in applying the experimental techniques of wave excitation. (Author)
