A WIDE BAND TRANSISTOR I-F AMPLIFIER WITH AGC,

Abstract

A 45 Mc transistor i-f amplifier designed with special emphasis on AGC considerations is described. The technique used was that of applying AGC voltage to video type stages to prevent distortion and nonlinearities usually present in the standard i-f amplifier with AGC. Analysis of the design and operation of the amplifier is for the most part carried out through use of pole-zero techniques. The completed amplifier had adequate gain and bandwidth coupled with desirable AGC characteristics. (Author)
