CALCULATION OF TIME-TEMPERATURE HISTORIES AND PREDICTION OF INJURY TO SKIN EXPOSED TO THERMAL RADIATION

Abstract

A general description is given of a digital computer program used in connection with the study of injury of skin exposed to thermal energy. All of the information necessary for a detailed understanding of the program is included; however, the material is presented in a manner such that a novice in the field of computer science may make use of the program if he so desires. For this reason emphasis is placed on the operating instructions for the program. A short discussion of the pertinent theory and equations as they apply to the human skin is included at the beginning of this report.
