FUNCTIONAL AREA DESCRIPTION MEDICAL INTELLIGENCE ANNEX D, FOR THE STUDY OF A METHOD FOR INTEGRATION OF MEDICAL ACCOUNTING, REPORTING, SUPPLY, AND REGULATING OF THE ARMY IN THE FIELD INTO THE ADSAF PROGRAM.

Abstract

Medical Intelligence results from the collection, evaluation, analysis, integration, and interpretation of all available information which is immediately or potentially significant to military planning and which concerns factors that affect the health and welfare of man and animals in actual or potential areas of operations. The production of medical intelligence requires continuous collection of medical information on a world-wide basis. Medical information is defined as items of medical interest or significance which have not been evaluated and interpreted in the perspective of military planning. The following categories of information are basic to the production of medical intelligence concerning any actual or potential area of operations: (1) Characteristics of the area of significance to military operations; (2) Diseases of man and animals; (3) Medical organization, administration, manpower; (4) Medical facilities, personnel, training; (5) Adequacy and availability of medical materiel; (6) Medical research and development; (7) Medical effects of weapons, including CBR.
