QUARTERLY REPORT OF TECHNICAL PROGRESS, NO. 8,

Abstract

A parametric study was initiated using the computer program to predict strains in blanks formed into ellipsoidal dies. Techniques and instrumentation for dynamic strain measurements have been checked out. Brief descriptions of papers on shock hardening, high-strain-rate ductility, explosive welding, and strain-rate experiments that were presented at the First International Conference of the Center for High Energy Forming are in this report. Papers presented by representatives of the Center at the conference will be included in the Second Annual Report of the Center. The complete proceedings of the conference will be edited and published at a later date. (Author)
