HIGH TEMPERATURE EVAPORATION TESTER AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING VOLATILITY OF FLUIDS AND SEMISOLID MATERIALS.

Abstract

The report describes the test procedure and apparatus for the determination of evaporation loss of fluid and of semisolid materials for application where evaporation loss is a significant factor. The sample to be tested is placed in a closed evaporation cell in an aluminum test block maintained at the desired test temperature. Heated air is passed over the surface of the sample for a specified period of time. The evaporation loss is calculated from the loss in weight of the sample. Evaporation data can be obtained at any temperature in the range of 210 to 1000F. (Author)
