ON THE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION APPROXIMATION IN RADIATIVE GAS DYNAMICS.

Abstract

A differential approximation for radiative transport is obtained which leads to a radiation term of the same order as the conduction term in the gas dynamic energy equation. It may be used to generate radiative energy flux and boundary conditions. As a demonstration, the plane-parallel Milne problem is worked out. (Author)
