AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL FOR LIQUID-COOLED FLIGHT SUITS.

Abstract

An automatic control system for maintaining constancy of skin temperature (T sub s) has been shown to be feasible by using special sensors to detect changes in T sub s and proportional fluid amplifiers to regulate the temperature of water flowing through the tubing of a water-cooled undergarment. Tests have indicated the response of the system when T sub s increased due to exercise or to an external heat load. (Author)
