THE ENERGETICS OF ION TRANSPORT IN THE PRESENCE OF POLYMERIC COMPOUNDS WHICH ALTER THE RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF WATER.

Abstract

The Arrhenius activation energy of the electrical conduction of aqueous 0.10M KCl solution remains unchanged when a thickening agent such as polyvinylmethel ether or a drag-reducing agent such as polyethylene oxide is added, indicating that these agents, in the small amounts added, probably do not appreciably alter the structure of liquid water.
