CELLULAR POLYPROPYLENE INSULATION,

Abstract

The article reviewed the advantages of cellular insulation and demonstrated how a properly designed polypropylene resin can be used to exploit these advantages in telephone cable. The extent of this advantage was outlined by comparing the relative size and material requirements for a typical telephone cable when solid LDPE and cellular Pro-fax 65A0 are employed as the primary insulation. These materials savings and diameter reductions attainable with cellular polypropylene insulation warrant the serious consideration of every cost-conscious cable manufacturer and user. (Author)
