AN ADAPTER TO IMPROVE THE SENSITIVITY OF THE Q METER FOR DIELECTRIC LOSS MEASUREMENTS OF POLYETHYLENE,

Abstract

A device, which can be adapted to a Q meter to increase its resolution by a factor of about five, was developed. In addition to being a differential voltmeter, the adapter can inject a variable conductance into the Q meter circuit. The theory and design of the G adapter is presented, and experimental measurements that were performed using the developed instrument are described.
