DITRIDECYL PHTHALATE (DTDP) IN HIGH TEMPERATURE VINYL INSULATION,

Abstract

Phthalates based on oxo alcohols meet most vinyl insulation needs. Tridecyl alcohol esterifies readily with phthalic anhydride. DTDP-plasticized vinyl insulation passes the heat-aging requirements for 90 and 105 degrees wire. Other areas for DTDP-plasticized insulation include TW, THW, 60C. oil-resistant, and jacketing compounds. Decyl tridecyl phthalate and ditridecyl adipate are esters that should also be of interest as specialty plasticizers. (Author)
