COMMUNICATION UNDERGROUND DISTRIBUTION PLANT IN URBAN AREAS,

Abstract

Based on trials it is concluded that only modest improvements in trenching and backfilling equipment and construction methods are needed to make all underground telephone plant, urban and rural, as cheap as aerial installations. Even if this were not so, the savings in maintenance costs, public demand for better appearance, and greater safety will prove in buried plant.
