STUDY OF POLYTYPIC PHASE RELATIONS AMONG COMPLEX INORGANIC STRUCTURES.

Abstract

Three-dimensional intensity data were measured for the plumboferrite substructure. These data result in a minimum function which confirms that the plumboferrite structure is a derivative structure of that of magnetoplumbite which in turn is isotypic with Ba-ferrite, BaFe12O19. A new set of three-dimensional intensity data for nigerite similarly shows that the nigerite structure is a derivative of the spinel structure. Further work on senaite led to one relatively complete trial structure. Detailed progress on all three of these structures determinations is described. (Author)
