ON THE SOLUTION OF EQUATION OF TRANSFER FOR A GREY GAS ENCLOSED BETWEEN TWO PLANE SURFACES.

Abstract

A moment method adapted to the boundary conditions of the problem of radiative equilibrium of a grey gas enclosed between two parallel black surfaces is given. Radiative flux as a function of optical thickness based on the distance between the two surfaces and the temperature distribution are evaluated. The method is in the spirit of the generalization of the Milne-Eddington approximation. (Author)
