CHEMICAL REACTIONS ON CLEAN SURFACES, USING MODULATED ATOMIC BEAM TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

Progress is reported in a study of the H2-D2 exchange reaction which is catalyzed by a clean nickel surface. The preparation of both polycrystalline Ni target foils and vacuum deposited Ni target films is described. The main reaction parameters studied were the reactant beam flux, the beam temperature, and the surface temperature.
