BOUND ON STRESSES CAUSED IN SANDWICH ARCHES BY BOUNDED ANELASTIC STRAINS.

Abstract

Bounds are obtained on the bending moments and the resultant thrusts and shear forces that can be induced in a section of a sandwich arch by anelastic strains of unknown distributions but bounded magnitudes. The example of a parabolic sandwich arch is worked out in detail to illustrate the results. (Author)
