THE ROLE OF MASS MEDIA AND INTERPERSONAL SOURCES OF INFORMATION IN DIRECTED SOCIAL CHANGE: A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE ON THE PHILIPPINES

Abstract

The report is concerned with the topic of the role of communications in directed social change in developing countries. Areas covered include opinion leadership, sources of information, innovativeness, factors facilitating adoption of innovations, the impact of mass media, and mass media vs. interpersonal sources of information. All papers represent recent work performed in the Philippines; most are limited circulation documents not likely to be available to U.S. social scientists.
