RESEARCH ON ADVANCED GASDYNAMICS TEST FACILITIES.
Abstract
The report describes studies carried out on methods of improving the performance of conventional shock tubes and shock tunnels, on problems peculiar to high enthalpy test facilities, and on the application of lasers to aerodynamic facilities. A number of the studies carried out have previously been described in detail in separate reports or papers and these are summarized; those previously unreported, in particular the laser application studies and recent isentropic compression tube studies, are described in detail.
