ASYMPTOTIC EXCHANGE COUPLING AND THE AMO METHOD,

Abstract

The calculation of the exchange coupling constant for two hydrogen atoms with the Heitler and London method gives the wrong sign in the asymptotic limit. The AMO formalism is used to show that the mixing of the polar state does not give an improvement. (Author)
